Keeping You Informed -- SFSO Updates

March 15, 2020

Dear Friends:
I write you after a week of profound and dramatic change for all of us. As the final notes of music still ring from our concerts last week, we are all faced with a new reality, which is both hard to describe and comprehend. South Florida Symphony’s highest priority is to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of our patrons, artists and the community. Following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Governor DeSantis and public health officials, we are implementing actions to slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus by listening to the experts, limiting potential exposure and creating social distancing. Our venues have temporarily gone dark and a travel ban prohibits our soloist, Mark Bebbington, from arriving from the UK. As a result, we are unable to perform the following concerts during this extraordinary time:

  • APRIL 16 | Masterworks IV at Broward Center for the Performing Arts
  • APRIL 17 | Masterworks IV at Tennessee Williams Theatre
  • APRIL 18 | Masterworks IV at Temple Israel of Greater Miami

These unprecedented circumstances have severe financial repercussions for our community and South Florida Symphony – our musicians, staff and partners. We are looking to you, our SFSO family, to come together and assist our Symphony to get through this, as Maestra Sebrina María Alfonso and our musicians continue to focus on and prepare to bring you a robust and exciting 2020/21 season. Please help us to keep the music alive by contributing today.

Your tickets

We hope you will consider donating the cost of your ticket back to SFSO and receive a tax deduction for the total ticket value. If you are unable to do so, you may opt to receive a credit for future attendance. Given this unique situation, SFSO has adjusted to our regular policy by offering credit for the face value of your tickets to Masterworks IV. The credit may be used toward tickets of comparable value for upcoming concerts during the 2020/21 season.  We encourage you to mail your exchange requests with tickets to:

Wishing you all the best,
